Floating Slab

For car garages, sheds, cottages, additions, and other structures, Meta Steel Buildings in Saskatchewan uses floating slabs as foundations. The perimeter of this slab is reinforced and thickened, but there are no frost footings. Thus, they are referred to as "floating" and allowed to cross the frost line freely. The use of insulation can also minimize the movement of frost.

The construction of a floating slab is a cost-effective method of constructing a foundation. It is possible to build sheds on floating slab foundations, which is an amazing option.
