Floating Slab

Structures such as car garages, sheds, cottages, additions, and others at Meta Steel Buildings are built using floating slabs as foundations. A slab of this type does not rely on frost footings, but only has a thickened, reinforced perimeter. In this way, they are called "floating" and allow for movement across the frost line. As well as reducing frost movement, insulation can reduce its intensity.

It is economically advantageous to build a foundation using a floating slab. With a floating slab foundation, sheds can be built to last for generations.
